Good old scouts

This picture looks somewhat cozy. Might be the nice lighting (that isn't done so ominously from below like on certain drawings) or those two boys snuggled up against each other up there. One of them giggles so much, I wonder what's up.
Now that we are at it, he isn't the only overjoyed scout. What's happening?? And most importantly, ARE THE FLAG HOLDER'S PANTS UNZIPPED?? WHAT? Joubert, quit doing your shenanigans please, it's kids literature*.
* also applies to other artists like Gourlier. Like I get it, helping kids realize they are gay is important and whatever, I don't doubt it, however still. Have some decency. Ffs
